Feast of Sacrifice is the second major Islamic festival, observed approximately 70 days after Eid al-Fitr. It commemorates the willingness of Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God and is marked by special prayers, the sacrifice of livestock, feasting, and giving meat to the poor. It is a public holiday in Muslim-majority countries worldwide.
